Located close to the geographical heart of Dordrecht, Smart Campus Leerpark (SCALE) is a regenerated urban district in the making. SCALE is developing rapidly. Besides schools, the park is also home to housing, business premises and a growing number of retail and catering establishments. Thus, SCALE is forming into a lively area.

Weconomy
SCALE stimulates collaborations and encounters and describes itself as a ‘Weconomy’. Various activities bring residents, entrepreneurs and students closer together. It is not about possession, but about access to each other. For example, residents of SCALE are connected to the world around them by starting initiatives with people from outside.
Smart Campus Leerpark is located close to the N3 and is therefore easily accessible by car. There is also a bus station on the park. This makes SCALE also easily accessible by public transport.
History
SCALE came into being at the end of the 1990s. On the one hand, there was a need to make optimal use of the limited space in the municipality of Dordrecht. On the other hand, the idea that education can only connect to ‘practice’ when practice is involved in education. The idea of the Leerpark being more than a collection of educational institutions is inspired by the trinity: meeting, connecting and inspiring. SCALE’s circular economy has become more and more characteristic for the park since its foundation.
