Pastoe Fabriek

The Pastoe Fabriek provides space for the development of knowledge, innovations and creativity. It is a place where culture, education and entrepreneurship come together. On the ground and first floor, the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) houses its visual arts courses. Here, they provide education in Design, Art Education and Art and Economics.

The ground floor of the Pastoe Fabriek has been the production space and storage of the furniture factory UMS Pastoe since 1918. The first and second floors were the showrooms of the Dutch Design Center/Toonkamer for many years. Today, the Pastoe Fabriek offers space to established companies in the creative sector. The cooperation between companies and the HKU also makes Pastoe Fabriek the ideal place for students to prepare for their future in the creative sector.

The Pastoe Fabriek’s industrial heritage is located on Rotsoord, an area between Ledig Erf and Hoograven. The complex is located on the Vaartsche Rijn River close to the centre of Utrecht in a developing neighbourhood. The Pastoe Fabriek is easily accessible by car and public transport.
